The Zoom to Canvas connection is Zoom's LTI Pro app, installed in Canvas as a course tool. The data that flows from Zoom into Canvas is attendance and recordings. On LTI 1.3, Zoom calculates a suggested attendance score from join time and minutes attended, and the instructor reviews and submits it to the Canvas gradebook. Cloud recordings from meetings scheduled in the course can be published so enrolled students watch them from the Zoom tab. Attendance grading has strict conditions: signed-in Zoom users with matching emails, meetings of 5 minutes or more that start within 10 minutes of the scheduled time, and no personal meeting IDs, alternative hosts, or join-before-host. A Canvas admin and a Zoom admin both take part in setup.
